2021 GEA Read-a-thon for SARAH Foundation!
What: The Read-a-thon is a fundraising event sponsored by the Guilford Education Association to benefit SARAH's programs and services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It involves reading during a specific time period and encouraging sponsors to pledge donations for the pages that are read.
Who: The Read-a-thon is open to all Guilford students in grades K-to-8.
How: Encourage read-a-thon supporters to visit the designated fundraising page for your school to make a donation and track progress towards your school goal. You can share the link to the school's fundraising page via email, text, and by talking to your pledge sponsors.

Week 1 - April 19th, Week 2 - April 26th, Week 3 - May 3rd
Read-a-thon Timeline:
Week 1: Students start asking family, neighbors and friends for pledges.
Week 2: Begin Reading!
Week 3: Collect donations by directing your pledge sponsors to make their gift online (select your preferred school). Donations can be made online at anytime during the read-a-thon campaign. Online donations will be accepted through the end of April.
Donations can also be sent via mail directly to the SARAH Foundation. Please include your child's name and school in the memo section of your check.

The SARAH Mission:
Founded in 1957, the SARAH family of agencies serves more than 1,700 local individuals living with intellectual and/or other disabilities. Our programs and services include residential housing and support, day programs and recreational activities, transitional and employment services, respite care and birth-to-three early intervention services. SARAH's primary goal is to help individuals live fulfilling, productive and engaged lives in the community.
